The Oatmeal

I’ve been posting a lot of videos lately. Today let’s check out one of the reasons the Internet is awesome. I present: The Oatmeal.

You’ve probably heard of The Oatmeal already, in which case you’ll agree with me: The Oatmeal is hilarious. Beyond hilarious. Hysterical. Pee-your-pants funny. -insert more hyperbole here- Really awesome.

The Oatmeal is a web comic that, as the best of humour does, brings to light the foolhardiness of ordinary human behaviour. On this website, you will learn How to pet a kitty, What it means when you say ‘literally’, Six reasons to ride a polar bear to work, Seven reasons to keep your tyrannosaurus off crack cocaine, and much more.

The Oatmeal is also the place to learn English: you can FINALLY stop misspelling words and learn How to use a semicolon. In fact, The Oatmeal’s grammar guides are so good that Camosun’s Nexus Newspaper has them printed out and taped to the door (where they remain unperused, as with all grammar guides).

The Oatmeal is so good not only because of the sweet drawings, but also because it is so darned relatable. Take, for example, one of my favourite comics: The 6 types of crappy hugs.

What’s your favourite Oatmeal comic?
